The license covers an area of 2083 square kilometres which is located in the western part of the country close to the capital Conakry. The area is known to host vast deposits of bauxite and other minerals. First discoveries of bauxite date back to 1930.
The license authorises Vimetco to prospect the area for bauxite for three months, with the option to renew the license for additional three months. The scope of the reconnaissance work is to identify the composition and structure of the underlying terrain and uncovering mineral occurrences.

Vimetco NV plans to commence reconnaissance work in Kindia, Guinea immediately. Budgeted are 500 samples. The analysis of the samples will be completed by April 2008.
