Director, Oil Gas Downstream Project Finance

The Role:
- You will join a team of 6 individuals, and take a senior role on the team as a Director of Oil and Gas Project Finance Downstream transactions
- Geographical focus will be the GCC region and North Africa with a strong focus on UAE/ Qatar/ Saudi and to a lesser extent North Africa
- Team focuses purely on Downstream Oil and Gas 75% of time and infrastructure deals 25% of time
- Senior hire and deputy head role on offer
- Working alongside the oil and gas head, you will have the responsibility of transacting and delivering downstream financing globally taking existing deal flow/pipeline and delivering results for a wider business development. You will work across and execute deals, including structuring and due diligence as well as processing of internal credit applications
- The team focus mainly on oil and gas advisory deals, and you will need to carry out and oversee complex advisories in the Project Finance space
- Responsible for origination and execution of project finance advisory and financing transactions in the region
- You will need to work closely with the head of PF business/ legal and credit teams and also investment banking teams

The Candidate:
- Essential to have prior experience with international banks or the industry with a focus on having undertaken financial advisory mandates in the oil & gas as well as chemicals sectors.
- Strong academics in Finance and/or economics, or equivalent
- Superior professional presentation, able to interact with people at senior levels both internally and externally
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
- Essential to have strong track record in downstream oil and gas transactions and also strong experience of advisory mandates in commodities/ chemicals
- My client will not hire candidates WITHOUT considerable experience of oil and gas or petrochemicals. Any energy/ infrastructure experience a plus but the desk is very covered in this area already
- Perfect candidate would have a strong track record in project finance advisory oil and gas deals and already be working at a bank in Dubai or have considerable experience of the European oil/gas market but keen to relocate to Dubai for a new challenge
- Arabic desirable but not essential, the most important skill is a sound knowledge of Oil/ Gas/ Downstream deals in the GCC region and chemical advisory deals
