Purpose of the job

We are looking for a new colleague to join our recently established rice trading team in Lausanne which will trade rice in bags / bulk across the globe.
You are responsible for the trade support from the moment a contract has been concluded until the final execution/delivery, making sure that all documents are correct and contractual conditions and terms are met. You will be in charge of maintaining a constant, fluent and efficient communication between the commercial and back office departments and be responsible for planning, managing and controlling every aspect regarding physical shipment and other methods of contract execution.

Responsibilities

• Planning the execution of purchase and sales contracts according to conditions agreed upon
• Ensuring compliance with national and international standards, legislation and quality assurance
• Planning shipments, deliveries and releases of goods in close coordination with traders
• Monitor and inform buyers about the position, arrival of their commodities and arrange insurance of the commodities.
• Processing all types of Trade transactions; Import L/C Establishments / Amendments, Import L/C Drawings / Refinance, Import and Export Collections.
• Collecting all necessary documents for billing the clients and cashing the funds
• Comparing estimated against actual costs and report to trader when adjustments are required
• Maintaining contacts with internal and external counterparts, like the freight department, ships agents, surveyors and financial institutions.
• Consolidating information collected from the distribution network
• Producing daily weekly / monthly management reporting

Educational level & experience required
• Bachelor degree preferably in logistics or trade finance
• Commercial vision and logistical know-how
• At least 4 years of experience with sea-shipments
• Good communication skills: able to communicate with internal and external parties
• Good written and spoken English & French
• A good working experience in Africa would be a plus
