Trading System Operator

My client, a global hedge fund, is looking to recruit a Trading System Operator to join their system operation team to be based from their CT offices.

The ideal candidate must have a development background combined with a very strong problem solving ability and strong attention to detail.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the system operation, maintenance and support, various trading related operations: testing new trading destinations, reconciling trades/positions/pnl, handling trader requests, troubleshooting fills and trading issues etc. Therefore must be a self starter, confident in your abilities with the ability to work independently and able to communicate clearly in a fast paced environment.

Knowledge of UNIX systems and very strong Pearl and SQL skills are required.
Shell scripting would also be a bonus.

The role involves interacting with traders on a daily basis so a good understanding of the financial markets is also required.
