The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for originating and developing new business for North and West Africa. This role works cross-functionally with Trading Desks and other related departments and is a key liaison role with external parties.

Experience in Nigeria is requisite for this role.

Primary Accountabilities
 
Build and keep updated a constant dialogue / database with various trading desks at the company and its subsidiaries, of various needs of the Company in terms of : longs, shorts, storage, partnership interest in Targeted Area.
 
Communicate closely with a broad range of departments at the company and its subsidiaries and disseminate information within the Business Development department and with other colleagues, in order to ensure that new opportunities are identified and captured and existing networks are used effectively.
 
Based on Company needs in potential prospective markets in and around of Targeted Area, understand local area peculiarities in terms of supply, demand, competition, oil and oil related infrastructure, trends, threats, opportunities, local habits, etc. in order to give the company and its subsidiaries a competitive edge to develop business in the Targeted Areas.
 
Propose to Head of Business Development strategies/leads in Targeted Areas around the company and its subsidiaries’ needs and strategic choices, in line with the company’s policies and guidelines;
filter solicitors, new business development ideas and submit them for review and approval to Head of Business Development.
 
Transmit projects leads / potential customers / creative ways of cooperation to appropriate the company departments and closely co-ordinate with them in order to ensure continuity and follow up of business development opportunities.
 
Communicate with other divisions of the company as a trouble-shooter in order to ensure that the Company’s objectives are met.
 
Analyze and understand contractual content, terms and conditions for each particular project/deal and act properly to ensure smooth running of day-to-day activity of all departments concerned. Review and/or study of the contracts and/or contracts amendments received/sent by the company and/or counterparties jointly with the relevant trading desk and/or contract desk
 
Follow-up progress of work from corresponding trading desk and/or operational dept in order to timely identify and resolve any issues and in order to keep all departments involved informed on progress of the transactions. Provide advice and support to operators in order to execute deals accurately, efficiently, while maximizing profits and reducing losses when possible.
 
      Anticipate the potential problems in order to avoid them and to optimize the process in future.
