My client is a global leading energy trading house, who have a market-leading operation within global trading markets. They are currently looking to expand their operation in a range of areas, with the priority being a shift power and gas trader for the Dusseldorf office. They are ideally looking for candidates with a varied exposure to trading power and gas on the UK markets.

Within this role your responsibilities will include:

· Become an expert in one or more areas of the complex UK power industry

· Execute trading strategies, requiring close interaction with internal departments and power plants as well as brokers and external counterparties

· Create and develop models for optimization of a wide range of physical assets and non-physical deal structures.

· Maximize the short-term market value of the UK Asset Portfolio

· Establish regulatory- and auxiliary agreements with National Grid

· Be part of a 24/7 Shift Desk as well as project and development work

Successful candidates for this role will:

· Have a University degree in business and / or engineering.

· You have strong analytical skills.

· You are reliable and accurate in your work.

· You are a team player with good communicative skills and fluency in the English language.

· You are an experienced user of Excel – VBA skills would be an advantage

· Relevant experience from gas/electricity sector would be an advantage

This opportunity offers a talented shift power and a position in a successful trading team based in Dusseldorf. Successful candidates for the position will have over two years experience trading power and gas on the UK markets, and have established contacts in the industry, as well as a proven track record.
