More than 400 delegates attended Mines and Money Asia 2009 held on 2-5 June at the Four Seasons Hotel, Hong Kong.

Since 1994 there has been a three-fold increase in the global relevance of Asia (measured in terms of share of GDP). The region's importance is accelerating and, to herald the fact, stock markets across Asia anticipate a wave of flotations during the second half of 2009. Christine Lie, vice-president of HKEx's Issuer Marketing Division, confirmed the bullish sentiment and noted this activity will be buoyed by HKEx's plans to ease access to the exchange for exploration companies.
