General information

Event Host: Gregory Brown, Presenter

Event Time: 4:30PM (EST)

Gregory Brown is the Senior Futures and Options trader at Price Futures Group.

Webinar charts and examples will touch on spread trades that exist across most all futures contracts. One very unique aspect of Greg’s trading system involves doing technical analysis on the charted spread and not the individual contracts themselves. Hidden inside the spread relationships are trading opportunities that show key buy and sell signals. And with a spread trade positions are hedged to control risk in these volatile markets. Spreads provide a way to manage your risk. Your trading decisions might be right as far as market direction, but timing your entry and exit points perfectly is impossible.

Greg will also use this webinar to follow up on his article in SFO magazine called Catch A Yield Curve Trade, using the CME Group’s popular interest rate contracts.

Key aspects of the presentation include:

How to find correlated relationships between two different contracts and chart the spread between them.
How to apply your technical analysis when picking a best time to enter and exit trades.
How spreads lead to inter-day trading opportunities, no matter which way the market is moving.
The keys to market timing.
About the Instructor

Gregory Brown received an MBA degree in Finance from the University of Chicago in 1984. He then began his career on Wall Street with a primary dealer in stocks and bonds. In 1987 he was transferred to work on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade trading futures for the firm and later for his own account. Greg’s trading experience spans more than two decades. Before joining Price he performed the advanced inter-day trading of arbitrage in both stocks / stock options and interest rate cash / interest rate futures with two Chicago proprietary companies.

With experience trading on and off the floor both in Chicago and New York, Greg has developed solid expertise about economic fundamentals such as the impact of Fed rate changes, the cause and effect of volatility, currency fluctuations, and the constantly-changing relationships between multiple cash and derivative markets. He is also a skilled technical analyst and published author, writing for SFO magazine on the subject of interest rate yield curves, and other trading papers available on the company website.
